On July 1, 2019, Vice President Wang Qishan met with Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard Casaubón of Mexico at Zhongnanhai.

Wang Qishan said that today is the 98th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and this year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The CPC led the Chinese people, through arduous exploration, to secure victory in the new democratic revolution, establish the socialist system, promote the socialist construction and reform and opening up, and embark on the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics. In the new era, Chinese communists will remain true to the original aspirations, keep the mission firmly in mind, preserve the advanced nature and purity of the CPC, and strive continuously to realize happiness of the people, prosperity and strength of the country, and the great rejuvenation of the nation. Currently, China and Mexico are at a key stage of reform and development, and both sides should deepen political mutual trust, exchange experience in state governance and administration and strengthen practical cooperation, so as to advance comprehensive development of bilateral relations.

Marcelo Ebrard Casaubón congratulated on the 98th anniversary of the founding of the CPC and expressed his admiration for China's development achievements. He said that the ruling parties of Mexico and China bear similarity in their governing concepts, and Mexico is willing to improve cooperation mechanisms in various fields with China and promote the continuous development of Mexico-China comprehensive strategic partnership.
