On September 18, 2019, Vice Foreign Minister Zheng Zeguang attended and addressed the national day reception held by the Mexican Embassy in China upon invitation. In his speech, Zheng Zeguang expressed his congratulations on the 209th anniversary of the independence of Mexico. He said, the Chinese side attaches great importance to China-Mexico relations, and is willing to work with the Mexican side to strengthen exchanges at all levels, deepen practical cooperation in various fields, promote people-to-people bonds and elevate bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership to new highs.
