On October 30, 2020, Director-general of the Department of Latin American and Caribbean Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Zhao Bentang and Director-general of American Regional Organizations and Mechanisms of the Foreign Ministry of Mexico Efrain Guadarrama, whose country holds the rotating presidency of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), held a video conference to exchange views on China-CELAC anti-epidemic and the overall cooperation. The two sides agreed that China and Mexico should continue to strengthen communication, coordinate and cooperate closely, make good preparations for the third ministerial meeting of China-CELAC Forum, and promote new progress in China-CELAC relations.
