On February 22, 2023, Vice Foreign Minister Xie Feng met with Mexican Ambassador to China Jesus Seade. The two sides exchanged views on China-Mexico relations and topics of mutual interest and concern.

Xie Feng spoke highly of the large numbers of works Seade had done to promote China-Mexico friendship since he took office. Xie Feng said that China and Mexico are major developing countries and  comprehensive strategic partner of each other. China is ready to work with Mexico to well implement the important common understandings of the leaders of both countries, further deepen political mutual trust, expand practical cooperation, deepen multilateral coordination, to elevate the China-Mexico comprehensive strategic partnership to new levels.

Seade said that Mexico and China enjoys a long history of friendship and bright prospects for the bilateral cooperation. Mexico attaches great importance to growing its relations with China, and is ready to work with China to further enhance political dialogue, expand practical cooperation in various fields, strengthen communication and coordination in international and regional affairs, and strive for more outcomes in bilateral relations.
