Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli Meets with National Liberation Party Delegation of Costa Rica

On May 23, 2013, Zhang Gaoli, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chinese Vice Premier, met with a delegation of the National Liberation Party (NLP) of Costa Rica, headed by the Party President Bernal Jimenez, in Beijing.

Zhang Gaoli said that bilateral relations enjoy rapid and stable development since China and Costa Rica established diplomatic relationship, with frequent high-level exchanges, strengthened political mutual trust and fruitful exchanges and cooperation in all fields. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Costa Rican side to continuously enrich bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation and to promote the sustained and in-depth development of bilateral relations. Zhang Gaoli expressed that the CPC places importance on its friendly relations with the NLP and wishes to further consolidate and strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two parties in all areas.

Jimenez spoke highly of the substantial progress that has been made in the Costa Rica-China relations since the establishment of diplomatic relationship, expressing hope to boost exchanges and cooperation between the two parties in order to push forward state relations.

Wang Jiarui, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, was present.
