Xi Jinping said, it is my first visit to Costa Rica. The people in the country are humble, hardworking and bright. I am in an urge to see the life of the people. You have already had three generations in the family. It goes with an old Chinese saying that harmony of the family brings prosperity. I would like to extend my sincere wishes to your whole family.

Xi Jinping told the Zamora family, I had been doing farm work as a grass-root for many years. When I later moved to the jobs in the counties, municipalities, provincial governments and the Central government, I frequently went back to the countryside to see the farmers and to know their basic requirements and real feelings. It is our very important task to do a good job for the rural areas, particularly focused on the efforts to help the farmers go out of poverty and live a happy life.

Mr. Zamora hoped that Chinese consumers could get a chance to taste his coffee. Xi Jinping said, during my visit, China and Costa Rica signed a number of agricultural products trade agreements, and more agricultural products of high quality will be exported to China from Costa Rica.

On behalf of his whole family, Mr. Zamora thanked Xi Jinping and Mme. Peng Liyuan for their visit to his home. He said it is a great honour for his family to host the distinguished guests from China. His youngest son Alberto Zamora said that the visit demonstrates the profound friendship of the Chinese people to the Costa Rican people. They would always remember the day.

Xi Jinping thanked the family for their hospitality and took photos with them. Mr. Zamora and his family accompanied the Chinese guests to the gate and waved goodbye.

Wang Huning, Li Zhanshu and Yang Jiechi were present at the above activities.

In the morning of the day, President Xi Jinping's wife Peng Liyuan, accompanied by Emilce Miranda, mother of Costa Rican President Laura Chinchilla, visited the National Children's Hospital of Costa Rica. Peng Liyuan stepped into one of the classrooms and watched the performances of a chorus and a flute solo. One child presented Peng Liyuan a piece of his painting. Peng Liyuan presented toy pandas to the children and paper-cuts made by Chinese children to the hospital. Peng Liyuan wished the children for quick recovery and to go China to see real pandas in the future.
