On 13 September 2013, Assistant Foreign Minister Zhang Ming was invited to attend the National Day reception held by the Costa Rican Embassy in China on the occasion of the 192nd anniversary of the independence of Costa Rica. Zhang Ming exchanged views on bilateral relations with H.E. Marco Vinicio Ruiz, Ambassador of Costa Rica to China, and Anabel González Campabadal, Minister of Foreign Trade of Costa Rica.
