The leaders of the participating countries held discussions around the theme of sustainable solutions to inclusive growth, and talked about strengthening the cooperation within the BRICS countries and the cooperation between the BRICS and South American countries.

Xi Jinping pointed out in his speech that the BRICS countries and South American countries are both emerging markets and developing countries, and constitute rising powers in the global pattern. We should jointly push forward the international order towards a fairer and more rational direction, safeguard the rights of peoples in choosing the social system and the development path by themselves, strengthen the global economic governance, push forward the international community to pay greater attention to the development issue, and help South American countries with poverty alleviation and the sustainable development cause. We should strengthen the connectivity between the two large markets of the BRICS and South America, actively participate in South America's infrastructure construction, resource exploitation, industrial development and project fund-raising, and strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges and enhance friendship among the peoples.

Xi Jinping stressed that China and South America enjoy a long history of exchanges. South American countries constitute one of the key directions among China's cooperation with developing countries. We are willing to remain a good friend and good partner so as to jointly promote the overall China-Latin America cooperation. China will host the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Informal Leadership Meeting this year, and is working with all member states, including South American members, to foster the Asia-Pacific regional economic integration framework and connectivity network, and develop the future-oriented Asia-Pacific partnership. China wishes to see the active participation of South American countries in Asia-Pacific economic cooperation.

Other participating leaders said that it is of great significance for the BRICS countries and South American countries to conduct dialogues, share development experience and jointly plan for cooperation. The two sides boast huge cooperation potentials, and should solidly push forward practical cooperation and promote regional economic integration. South American countries welcome the establishment of the BRICS Development Bank and the Contingency Reserve Arrangement, and hope this could provide fund-raising support to relevant countries and improve their capabilities to resist financial risks. It is believed that the cooperation between the two sides is conducive not only to their own development, but also to promoting democratization of the international relations and world peace, stability and prosperity.
