On January 22, 2015, President Xi Jinping received credentials presented by new Ambassadors of eight countries to China at the Great Hall of the People. They are Ambassador to China Paul Chikawa of Zimbabwe, Ambassador to China Milan Bacevic of Serbia, Ambassador to China Fazlul Karim of Bangladesh, Ambassador to China Mohamed Faisal of Maldives, Ambassador to China Ricardo J. Leon P. of Costa Rica, Ambassador to China Michael Milli Hussein of South Sudan, Ambassador to China John McKinnon of New Zealand and Ambassador to China Dato Zainuddin bin Yahya of Malaysia.

Xi Jinping welcomed foreign diplomatic envoys to China from the five continents to assume their new office in China, asked them to convey sincere greetings and best wishes to their state leaders and people and expressed his hope that they will make contributions to promoting the development of bilateral relations during their tenure. Xi Jinping pleasantly recalled his friendly exchanges with countries concerned, positively commented on the considerable progress made in bilateral relations in recent years and expressed that China is willing to continue to work with relevant countries to strengthen friendly exchanges, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and promote continuous development of bilateral relations.

Foreign diplomatic envoys conveyed their state leaders' sincere greetings to Xi Jinping and good wishes to the Chinese people. They expressed that China's development is an opportunity of the world and all the countries enjoy broad cooperative space with China. Their countries attach great importance to developing relations with China and have great expectation of the development of bilateral relations. They feel honored to be an ambassador to China and will make unremitting efforts to promote the development of bilateral relations.
