At the invitation of the Foreign Ministry of Costa Rica, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Latin American Affairs Yin Hengmin will attend the 7th Foreign Ministers’ Meeting of Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC) in San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica from August 19 to 21, 2015.

China has recently set up the Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Latin American Affairs, whose main responsibility is to assist the leading officials of Foreign Ministry in dealing with the affairs in Latin America. The setting-up of the position of the Special Representative indicates the importance that China pays to the China-Latin America relations, and will further strengthen the China-Latin America comprehensive partnership of cooperation.

Special Representative Yin Hengmin has once acted as the Director-General of the Department of Latin American Affairs of the Foreign Ministry and Chinese Ambassador to Peru, Mexico and Argentina, and is familiar with Latin American affairs.
