On April 25, 2019, Vice Foreign Minister Qin Gang met with Administrative Minister of the Presidency Jose Ramon Peralta of the Dominican Republic.

Qin Gang welcomed Jose Ramon Peralta's attendance at the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in China. He expressed that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Dominican Republic over the past year, bilateral relations have developed rapidly and cooperation in various fields has achieved positive progress, demonstrating that the decision of the two heads of state on establishing diplomatic relations is completely right. The Chinese side stands ready to work with the Dominican side to well implement the important consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and President Danilo Medina and promote greater development of China-Dominican Republic relations so as to benefit the two peoples.

Jose Ramon Peralta noted that Dominican Republic-China relations develop rapidly, with frequent high-level mutual visits between the two countries and the practical cooperation being accelerating. The Dominican side appreciates the Chinese side for its valuable support for the Dominican Republic's economic and social development and is willing to work with the Chinese side to further enhance coordination and cooperation, and well implement relevant cooperation projects to promote better development of Dominican Republic-China relations through the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.
