Xi Jinping Meets with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi of Egypt

On September 2, 2015, President Xi Jinping met with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi of Egypt at the Great Hall of the People.

Xi Jinping welcomed Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to attend the commemorations marking the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War in China. He pointed out that currently the two countries are constantly deepening and enriching their comprehensive strategic partnership constantly advancing practical cooperation in all areas, keeping close local, people-to-people and cultural and military exchanges, and maintaining sound coordination and communication in international and regional affairs. In the next stage, the two countries should keep high-level exchanges, promote bilateral cooperation in production capacity, strengthen cooperation in infrastructure construction, security and other fields, and continue to work together in such multilateral fields as the UN so as to uphold common interests of developing countries.

Abdel Fattah al-Sisi stated that it was a pleasure for him to, on behalf of the Egyptian people, jointly commemorate the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War with the Chinese people in China. Egypt attaches great importance to Egypt-China comprehensive strategic partnership, actively devotes to promoting bilateral cooperation in all areas, and is willing to participate in relevant cooperation under the “Belt and Road” framework.

After the meeting, the two heads of state jointly witnessed the signing of cooperation documents between the two countries in areas including production capacity and finance.

Wang Huning, Li Zhanshu, Yang Jiechi and others attended the meeting.
