On September 2, 2015, President Xi Jinping met with President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.

Xi Jinping welcomed Alexander Lukaschenko to attend the commemorations marking the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War in China, and stated that our two peoples once fought shoulder to shoulder in the World Anti-Fascist War. Xi Jinping pointed out that we have witnessed rapid development in the China-Belarus comprehensive strategic partnership and all-round progress in cooperation in various sectors, and both sides provide firm support to each other on issues concerning their core interests. China will always be sincere friend and reliable partner of Belarus. In this May when I visited Belarus, we reached a series of important consensuses on the development of China-Belarus relations with the hope of making steady progress in relevant cooperation. Belarus is an important cooperative partner of China in building the Silk Road Economic Belt. The two sides should make joint efforts to promote the construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt for early harvest, and drive bilateral all-round cooperation in such sectors as trade, investment and finance and between local regions through the building of China-Belarus industrial park. China is willing to push the docking between the construction of Silk Road Economic Belt and the construction of Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) on the basis of equality and mutual benefit.

Alexander Lukashenko noted that he was glad to recall history with the Chinese people in China. In the World Anti-Fascist War, the Chinese people made great sacrifices, and demonstrated the national spirit of perseverance and tenacity, thus writing the earthshaking heroic chapter. Belarus is China’s faithful friend. A series of consensuses on advancing bilateral practical cooperative relations reached by him and President Xi Jinping are now in implementation, and vigorous progress has been made in the cooperation of the China-Belarus industrial park. Belarus is ready to further deepen the friendly relations with China.

Wang Huning, Li Zhanshu, Yang Jiechi and others attended the meeting.
