On September 3, 2015, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli met at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse with President Mamnoon Hussain of Pakistan, who was in China for the commemorations marking the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

Zhang Gaoli said that over recent years, the China-Pakistan relations have kept a strong development momentum. In this April, President Xi Jinping paid a successful state visit to Pakistan, achieving fruitful results. And he and you have now reached multiple consensuses on developing China-Pakistan relations. China is willing to work with Pakistan to implement well the important consensuses reached by the leaders of both countries, and take the opportunity of constructing China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, put emphasis on cooperation on the Gwadar Port, energy, industry and transportation infrastructure and practically align the “Belt and Road” initiatives with Pakistan’s development strategy so as to draw on each other’s strength, deepen and expand practical cooperation and promote common progress and prosperity of the two countries.

Mamnoon Hussain congratulated China on its successful holding of the commemorations on September 3 and expressed that the Pakistani side is willing to work with the Chinese side to advance continuously bilateral practical cooperation in all areas.
