Xi Jinping Meets with President Almazbek Atambayev of Kyrgyzstan

On September 2, 2015, President Xi Jinping met with President Almazbek Atambayev of Kyrgyzstan in Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.

Xi Jinping welcomed Almazbek Atambayev to attend the commemorations of the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War in China. He said that the Kyrgyz people offered precious support for the Chinese people’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. Xi Jinping pointed out that the series of important consensuses reached by us in Shanghai and Dushanbe last year are being actively implemented, and China-Kyrgyzstan strategic partnership has been further strengthened and enriched and is showing more vitality. I agree to the 2015-2025 Cooperation Outline Between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Kyrgyzstan formulated by the two sides. Both sides should further deepen economic and security cooperation and constantly speed up and upgrade the China-Kyrgyzstan relations. Sound top-level design and strategic dovetail should be well conducted in economic cooperation for steady promotion of major-project construction in fields like energy, transportation and agriculture. China is willing to take an active part in major cooperation projects in the national stability and development strategies of Kyrgyzstan within the framework of Silk Road Economic Belt, and work together with the Kyrgyz side to co-build the China-Central Asia-West Asia Economic Corridor.

Almazbek Atambayev expressed that the commemorations of the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War bears great significance. The Kyrgyz people and Chinese people fought side by side during the Anti-Fascist War and thus formed profound friendship. The Kyrgyz side thanks for China’s help for its’ economic and social development, and is willing to strengthen cooperation with China in economy and trade and security as well as participate in the docking cooperation between the “Belt and Road” and the Eurasian Economic Union so as to continuously consolidate the friendly relations with China.

After the meeting, the two heads of state witnessed together the signing of cooperation outline between the two Foreign Ministries as well as bilateral cooperation documents on economy,, technology, regional cooperation and others.

Wang Huning, Li Zhanshu, Yang Jiechi and others attended the meeting.
