On the afternoon of September 2, 2015, Premier Li Keqiang met at the Fanghua Garden of Diaoyutai State Guesthouse with President Park Geun-hye of the Republic of Korea (ROK), who was in China to attend the commemorations marking the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

Li Keqiang expressed that the peoples of China and the ROK once supported and helped each other in resisting foreign aggression and colonial rule and won the victory, which is worth celebrating by the two sides. At present, China-ROK relations have made sustained and in-depth development and President Xi Jinping has held fruitful talks with you. The Chinese side is willing to enhance exchanges and deepen cooperation with the ROK to better develop the China-ROK strategic cooperative partnership, so as to jointly lead and promote the regional economic integration for greater development.

Li Keqiang pointed out that the two sides should depend more on the driving force of innovation, dovetail innovation chain and industrial chain and conduct in-depth cooperation in strategic emerging industries such as new energy, intelligent manufacturing and green and low-carbon manufacturing. The two sides should give play to and expand the positive effects of the China-ROK Free Trade Agreement (FTA), explore complementary potential in the two economies and promote cooperation in equipment manufacturing, science and technology, creativity, finance and other fields.

Park Geun-hye said that the political and economic relations between the ROK and China have reached the level of strategic cooperation. The ROK is willing to maximize the role of the FTA to expand cooperation in trade, finance and investment, enhance the industrial cooperation of new technologies including intelligent technology, electronic communication, medical treatment and health care and push the bilateral economic and trade relations to a new high. Both sides should make full use of their rich cultural resources to strengthen cultural exchanges and expand cooperation in cultural industries .

When talking about the cooperation between China, the ROK and Japan, Park Geun-hye said that the cooperation between the three countries is beneficial to regional peace, stability and common prosperity. The ROK is willing to strengthen communication and coordination with all sides including China for an early holding of a new round of leaders meeting among the ROK, China and Japan.

Li Keqiang expressed that the cooperation between China, Japan and the ROK is very important for the process of regional economic integration. The Chinese side appreciates the ROK’s work as the coordinator of trilateral cooperation, and hopes that all sides can make joint efforts to create favorable conditions for the holding of the leaders meeting among the three countries.
