On September 2, 2015 President Xi Jinping held a group meeting in Diaoyutai State Guesthouse with foreign leaders and heads of international organizations attending the commemorations of the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

At the dusk of early autumn, Diaoyutai enjoyed the view of elegant dance by green trees and the pleasant coolness brought by autumn breeze. The Fangfei Garden of Diaoyutai State Guesthouse was filled with joyous and festive atmosphere. President Xi Jinping and Mme. Peng Liyuan exchanged greetings and renewed friendship with present state leaders and their spouses.

Xi Jinping extended his welcome to foreign leaders and heads of international organizations who came to China to attend the commemorations marking the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression as well as the World Anti-Fascist War. Xi Jinping pointed out that your visit to Beijing and attendance at the commemorations fully embody your support to the commemorations held by China, reflect your profound friendship with Chinese people, and show that you respect history and value peace. The purpose of these grand commemorations held by the Chinese people is to remember the history, cherish the memory of martyrs, value peace and open up the future together with people in the rest of the world.

Foreign leaders and heads of international organizations coming to China to attend the commemorations congratulated on the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression as well as the World Anti-Fascist War. They expressed that the Chinese people had made tremendous sacrifice for and significant contribution to the final victory of the World Anti-Fascist War. Looking into the future, people of all countries should consolidate unity and cooperation to jointly safeguard international fairness and justice and world peace.
