Li Keqiang Meets with President Islam Karimov of Uzbekistan

On the afternoon of September 3, 2015, Premier Li Keqiang met in the Great Hall of the People with President Islam Karimov of Uzbekistan who was in China to attend the commemorations marking the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

Li Keqiang expressed that the strategic partnership between China and Uzbekistan enjoys a good development momentum. Yesterday President Xi Jinping held a successful talk with you, injecting new impetus into the development of China-Uzbekistan relations. The Chinese side stands ready to intensify policy communications with the Uzbek side, extend bilateral trade scale and innovate cooperation patterns, so as to turn the high-level political mutual trust into more tangible cooperation fruits.

Li Keqiang pointed out that China-Uzbekistan cooperation in production capacity and infrastructure construction enjoys complementary advantages and broad prospects. China is willing to conduct cooperation of production capacity and equipment manufacturing industry with Uzbekistan in areas of common interest, which will cultivate new growth points for bilateral cooperation and help the two sides to effectively deal with the downward pressure resulting from the changes of international economic situation.

Islam Karimov expressed that China plays an unique constructive role in international affairs. Uzbekistan and China boast high-level mutual trust in politics and mutual benefit and assistance in economy. The two peoples also possess profound friendship. The Uzbek side stands ready to work with the Chinese side to look into the future, deepen cooperation and promote the bilateral relations for constant progress.
