2015-11-23 15:25

On the morning of November 23 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met at the hotel where he stayed in Kuala Lumpur with representatives from economic and business circles of Malaysia, and had friendly communications with them.

Li Keqiang expressed that China and Malaysia enjoy profound traditional friendship, sound political relationship and close people-to-people and cultural exchanges and their economic and trade exchanges and mutual investment are at the forefront of cooperation between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries. Yesterday, China and the 10 ASEAN countries jointly signed the outcome document on concluding the negotiations on free trade area (FTA) upgrade, which marks a new level of China-ASEAN economic and trade relations and is of milestone significance. It is hoped that the business circles in Malaysia can seize the opportunity and make new contribution to the development of China–Malaysia "three in one" relationship of politics, economy and culture.

Li Keqiang pointed out that the development strategies of China and Malaysia fit in with each other. China is promoting "mass entrepreneurship and mass innovation" with the goal of building a new engine for economic growth by stimulating people's creativity, which requires large enterprises to play their leading role, and small and medium sized enterprises to compete with and outperform each other. China and Malaysia can build a platform for cooperation between their small and medium sized enterprises. China is willing to, together with Malaysia, stabilize financial market and offer convenience and stable expectation to two-way investment and financing so as to promote the development of bilateral economic and trade relations.

Present personages from Malaysian economic and business circles noted that Malaysia and China are as close as one family. The close and mutually beneficial economic cooperation between the two countries constantly injects new impetus into the development of bilateral relations. Industrial and business circles in Malaysia are glad to see China's economic growth, and support and will participate in the building of China's "Belt and Road" and the docking of bilateral development strategies. It is expected that the Regional Economic Comprehensive Partnership (RECP) will be realized at an early date.
