Li Keqiang Meets with President of the Chamber of Deputies Eduardo Cunha of Brazil

On the afternoon of May 19 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met at the National Congress in Brasilia with President of the Chamber of Deputies Eduardo Cunha of Brazil.

Li Keqiang expressed that China and Brazil are strategic partners and their all-round cooperation is linked by friendship and based on public support. China will, together with Brazil, deepen political mutual trust as well as enhance practical cooperation and people-to-people and cultural exchanges, thus better develop bilateral relations and benefit the two peoples.

Li Keqiang pointed out that China highly values the important role of Brazilian Chamber of Deputies in the political life of the country, and supports bilateral legislative bodies to boost cooperation and experience exchange. He welcomed more Brazilian congress members to visit China.

Eduardo Cunha expressed that Brazil highly appreciates China's economic and social development achievements, and is delighted to see constant progress in bilateral exchanges and cooperation covering such fields as politics, economy, and people-to-people and cultural engagement. Though from different regions and political parties, the members of Brazilian Chamber of Deputies all support developing relations with China and feel happy to push forward bilateral relations, and they are willing to continue contributing to bilateral friendly cooperation.

Following the meeting, Li Keqiang went to the Conference Hall of the Chamber of Deputies in the company of President of the Chamber of Deputies Eduardo Cunha, and met and friendly communicated with the members of the Chamber of Deputies present.

On that evening, after concluding their visit to Brasilia, capital of Brazil, Premier Li Keqiang and his wife Mme. Cheng Hong left by special plane for Rio de Janeiro. When arriving at the Rio de Janeiro Air Base, Li Keqiang and his wife were greeted by Governor of Rio de Janeiro State Luiz Fernando Pezão and other officials.
