On the evening of May 20 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met at the state governor's palace in Rio de Janeiro City with Governor of Rio de Janeiro State Luiz Fernando Pezão of Brazil.

Li Keqiang said that Rio de Janeiro State is always standing at the forefront of China-Brazil local exchanges. It is believed that deepening mutually beneficial and practical cooperation between China and Brazil will bring more opportunities to the development of Rio de Janeiro State. China is grateful to the government of Rio de Janeiro State for opening the gate for Chinese equipments entering Brazil, and will further enhance bilateral cooperation. It is also hoped that Rio de Janeiro State will continue offering support and facilitation for operation and development of Chinese enterprises.

Li Keqiang expressed that the 2016 Summer Olympic Games will be held in Rio de Janeiro City, and China will share successful experience of the Beijing Olympic Games with Brazil by carrying out cooperation covering technical exchanges and personnel training, and wishes the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games a complete success.

Luiz Fernando Pezão said that Rio de Janeiro State, which enjoys close relations with China, has a huge demand for infrastructure construction and equipment renewal and will also host the Olympic Games next year. Rio de Janeiro State is willing to carry out a wide range of cooperation with China and welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest and develop in the state. Rio de Janeiro State is willing to become a portal for Chinese products especially Chinese equipments to enter Brazilian market.

Wife of Premier Li Keqiang Mme. Cheng Hong and wife of Governor Luiz Fernando Pezão Maria Lúcia Jardim attended the meeting.
