On the afternoon of May 22 local time, at the invitation of President Ollanta Moisés Humala Tasso of Peru, Premier Li Keqiang arrived at the air base of Peruvian capital Lima by special plane, starting his official visit to Peru. Mme. Cheng Hong, wife of Premier Li Keqiang, arrived by the same plane.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Ana Maria Sanchez of Peru greeted them at the air base. Guards of courtesy, lining up on both sides of the red carpet, saluted Premier Li Keqiang and his wife. H.E. Huang Minhui, Chinese Ambassador to Peru, also went to the air base to greet them.

Li Keqiang expressed that Peru is one of the earliest countries that established diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China and reached the package of Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with China. China and Peru enjoy profound traditional friendship, practical cooperation in a wide range of fields and continuously integrated common interests. Through this visit, I expect to consolidate friendship and mutual trust and create broader space for the two sides to implement production capacity cooperation. China is willing to share development opportunities with Peru, learn from each other's achievements of civilization and bring benefits to the two peoples, so as to jointly create a brighter future for China-Peru comprehensive strategic partnership.

During his visit, Li Keqiang will hold talks with President Ollanta Moisés Humala Tasso, and together they will meet the press, and attend the series of activities promoting mutual learning between Chinese and Latin American civilizations and an informal discussion with Chinese entrepreneurs.

Li Keqiang and his wife Mme. Cheng Hong arrived in Lima after concluding the successful official visit to Colombia. When they left Bogota, Minister of Foreign Affairs María Ángela Holguín Cuéllar of Colombia and H.E. Wang Xiaoyuan, Chinese Ambassador to Colombia, went to the airport to see them off.
