Li Keqiang Meets with President Andrzej Duda of Poland

On the morning of November 24, 2015, Premier Li Keqiang met at the Dongshan Hotel of Suzhou City with President Andrzej Duda of Poland, who was in China for the 4th Summit of China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) and a state visit.

Li Keqiang expressed that China and Poland are witnessing a rapid development in their strategic partnership, frequent high-level exchanges, enhanced political mutual trust and constantly advanced practical cooperation. President Xi Jinping will hold talks with you in Beijing. China attaches high importance to developing its relations with Poland, and will work with Poland to continuously enrich the connotations of bilateral strategic partnership, and hopes that the new Polish government will continue the friendly policy towards China and together ensure China-Poland relations stand at the forefront of China’s relations with the CEEC and even the European countries.

Li Keqiang pointed out that China will work with Poland to dock development strategies, expand economic and trade investment, carry out production capacity cooperation and expand cooperation in such sectors as infrastructure construction, transportation, logistics and clean energy. China proposed a new initiative to carry out “cooperation in the three port areas” and hopes Poland will support and take an active part in it.

Li Keqiang stressed that Poland is an important country in the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). China will join hands with Poland to push “16+1” cooperation for greater and stronger development and make it an important force pushing forward the relations between China and the CEE as well as between China and Europe.

Andrzej Duda expressed that he is glad to pay his first visit to China, admires China’s achievements in economic and social development and hopes that Poland and even the whole CEE will benefit from China’s development. The new Polish government highly values its relations with China, and is willing to become an important partner of CEE-China cooperation and promote bilateral cooperation in transportation, energy and other infrastructure construction in Poland, so as to facilitate Poland’s re-industrialization process. The new Polish government is willing to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in economy, trade, science, technology, culture, education and other fields and expand bilateral trade in agricultural products. The Polish side will offer investment convenience for Chinese enterprises. It is believed that the summit will yield more results for bilateral relations.
