Li Keqiang Meets with Prime Minister Orban Viktor of Hungary

On the morning of November 25, 2015, Premier Li Keqiang met at the Dongshan Hotel of Suzhou City with Prime Minister Orban Viktor of Hungary, who was in China to attend the 4th Summit of China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC).

Li Keqiang expressed that China and Hungary share profound traditional friendship and their relations are entering the best period in history, with extensive areas of practical cooperation and productive cooperation in infrastructure construction, finance, agriculture, tourism and other fields, bringing tangible benefits to both peoples. China will work with Hungary to, in the principle of mutual respect and equal treatment, further deepen political mutual trust, dock development strategies, expand mutually beneficial cooperation in economy, trade and investment, and strengthen people-to-people and culture exchanges to push the bilateral relations to a new stage.

Li Keqiang pointed out that the Budapest-Belgrade railway is a major project of landmark significance in China-Hungary and China-CEEC cooperation and an important support to China-Europe land-sea express line, exerting demonstrative and driving effects. Both sides should accelerate the preparation work to lay a solid foundation for the project construction, and strive to build it into a model project in China-Hungary and 16+1 cooperation so as to accumulate confidence and experience to constantly deepen China-CEEC cooperation.

Orban Viktor noted that China is a good friend of Hungary. The Hungarian side appreciates China's assistance in the economic and social development of Hungary, supports the development of CEEC-China and Europe-China relations and is willing to further elevate Hungary-China relations and push for an early start of the Budapest-Belgrade railway project.

Both sides also exchanged views on international topics of common interest.
