Li Keqiang Meets with Prime Minister Boiko Borisov of Bulgaria

On the morning of November 26, 2015, Premier Li Keqiang met at the Great Hall of the People with Prime Minister Boiko Borisov of Bulgaria, who was in China to attend the 4th Summit of China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC).

Li Keqiang expressed that China and Bulgaria enjoy profound traditional friendship and bilateral relations always develop in a sound and stable manner. Bulgaria is an important country in Central and Eastern Europe, and plays a positive role in China-CEEC cooperation. China attaches importance to developing its relations with Bulgaria, and is willing to strengthen exchanges at all levels between both countries and deepen bilateral cooperation in all areas so as to push for constant development of China-Bulgaria comprehensive friendly cooperative partnership.

Li Keqiang pointed out that China-Bulgaria cooperation has broad prospects. The Chinese side is willing to actively participate in major connectivity infrastructure projects proposed by the Bulgarian side, including high-speed railway and the Black Sea Ring Highway, discuss trilateral cooperation in nuclear power, actively expand cooperation in agricultural product trade, tourism and other areas and further enhance people-to-people and cultural exchanges so as to achieve common development and prosperity.

Boiko Borisov congratulated China on the success of the 4th Summit of the CEEC and China and noted that Bulgaria and China enjoy solid political relations and a profound foundation for people-to-people and cultural exchanges. Bulgaria has a strong will and sound conditions to carry out cooperation with China, and is willing to further elevate bilateral relations, and intensify production capacity cooperation and infrastructure construction in areas including railway, highway and nuclear power so as to realize mutual benefits and win-win results. The Bulgarian side highly appreciates China's commitment to pushing the development of CEEC-China relations and stands ready to work with the Chinese side to this end.
