On March 28, 2015, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Co-Chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) Bill Gates of the US during the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2015.

Wang Yi appreciated Bill Gates for his efforts to advance cooperation in health care, agriculture, science and technology and other fields between China and the US over the years, and expressed his hope that the BMGF will continue to make positive contributions to enhancing economic and trade cooperation between China and the US and friendship between the two peoples.

Bill Gates expressed that China’s achievements in development, poverty relief and other fields are admirable. The BMGF is willing to continue to make positive efforts to promote cooperation in health care, innovation and other fields between the US and China.
