On March 28, 2015, President Xi Jinping met at the Boao State Guest House of Hainan Province with Prime Minister Mark Rutte of the Netherlands.

Xi Jinping welcomed Mark Rutte to attend the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2015. Xi Jinping pointed out that during my visit to the Netherlands last year, we decided to establish China-Netherlands comprehensive cooperative partnership featuring openness and pragmatism, elevating bilateral relations to a new level. At present, bilateral relations enjoy a sound development momentum and the various consensus reached by us are being gradually implemented. China will join efforts with the Netherlands to push bilateral relations for greater development.

Xi Jinping stressed that China and the Netherlands should stick to mutual respect and equal treatment and respect and take care of each other’s core interests and major concerns so as to ensure the sustained, healthy and stable development of bilateral relations. The two countries should innovate cooperation thinking, consolidate and expand cooperation, and deeply cooperate in such fields as agricultural products, dairy industry, pollution control and clean energy. It is hoped that the Netherlands could promote the export of more high-tech products and technology to China. Both countries should offer more facilitation to bilateral personnel exchanges, encourage high-calibre art troupes to perform in each other’s country, continue exchanges between museums and galleries of the two countries and deepen bilateral people-to-people and cultural exchanges.

Mark Rutte said that President Xi Jinping paid a successful state visit to the Netherlands last year, which strongly promoted bilateral political and economic exchanges. King Willem-Alexander Claus George Ferdinand and Queen Maxima are looking forward to their state visit to China. The Netherlands has decided to apply to become a founding member of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and will communicate with China to this end immediately. Before coming to Boao, he led a delegation of Dutch entrepreneurs to visit Shanghai and Shenzhen, and the entrepreneurs are very satisfied with the visiting results and are all looking forward to developing in China. It is hoped that more Dutch agricultural and sideline products could be exported to China. China is enhancing the rule of law and is striving to achieve an economic growth with emphasis on quality instead of quantity under the new normal. The Netherlands appreciates this and believes that this will provide a better environment for bilateral economic and trade cooperation. They are ready to enhance cultural exchanges with China including Chinese teaching and welcome more Chinese tourists to visit the Netherlands.

Wang Huning, Li Zhanshu, Yang Jiechi and others were present at the meeting.
