On July 8 local time, President Xi Jinping met in Ufa, Russia with President Vladimir Putinof Russia.

Xi Jinping pointed out that we had a successful meeting in Moscow this May, and together attended the celebration for the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, appealing to the international community to defend the victorious outcomes of the World War II as well as the international justice. We agreed to connect the construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt with the construction of the Eurasian Economic Union and prioritize cooperation in such areas as investment, finance, energy, aviation, aerospace, construction of high-speed railways and other infrastructure, and the development of Russia's Far East region. The relevant departments of the two governments are implementing a series of important cooperation consensus reached by us and tangible results have been achieved in the cooperation in some new fields.

Xi Jinping stressed that China and Russia enjoy high complementarity in economic structure, assorted cooperation areas and enormous markets. The two countries should deepen economic and trade cooperation, continue vigorously improving trade structure, foster new growth points, speed up the implementation of strategic cooperation projects and build high-quality platforms for bilateral cooperation. Both sides should make the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) an important platform for connection of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the Eurasian Economic Union and expand bilateral practical cooperation to push development, cooperation and prosperity of the entire Eurasian continent. The two countries should strengthen people-to-people exchanges and cooperation, and earnestly prepare for the China-Russia Year of Media Exchanges program, so as to boost mutual understanding and friendly cooperation between their media circles.

Xi Jinping noted that China and Russia should keep their high-level strategic coordination in the SCO and jointly direct relevant mechanisms to deepen cooperation, take effective measures in tackling such challenges as terrorism and drug trafficking and maintain regional security, so as to enable the SCO to play a bigger role in safeguarding the common interests of all countries in the region.

Xi Jinping stressed that China highly values the upcoming 7th BRICS Summit. We should cement our confidence and enhance cooperation to jointly forge a closer, more comprehensive and more solid partnership among all BRICS countries. We endorse the positive signals sent by the BRICS nations to the world in safeguarding the victorious results of the WWII, promoting world peace and security and pushing forward the democratization of international relations so as to cement their important role in improving global governance and reinforcing multilateralism. The BRICS countries should enhance their economic cooperation and expedite the establishment of the New Development Bank of BRICS nations and Contingent Reserve Arrangement thus jointly build a BRICS community of common interests. They should also strengthen coordination on key issues concerning global governance such as the post-2015 development agenda, the negotiation on climate change, the reform of International Monetary Fund, anti-terrorism and cyber security so as to safeguard the common interests of emerging markets as well as other developing countries.

Vladimir Putin expressed that he was delighted to receive President Xi Jinping in Ufa only two months after their last meeting. The comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination between Russia and China has been going through in-depth development, featuring closer exchanges in all sectors and long-term positive cooperation in international affairs. The economic and trade relations between Russia and China have become increasingly important. China has become Russia's largest trading partner and the two sides have made further progress in cooperation in financial sector. Russia has been actively involved in the preparatory work of the China-initiated Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, and the two countries have witnessed steady progress in bilateral cooperation in infrastructure, energy, aerospace, new and high technology and other areas.
