Xi Jinping Attends Dialogue Between BRICS Leaders and Representatives of BRICS Business Council

On July 9 local time, the dialogue between BRICS leaders and representatives of BRICS Business Council was held in Ufa of Russia. President Xi Jinping, President Vladimir Putin of Russia, President Dilma Rousseff of Brazil,Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India, President Jacob Zuma of South Africa and others were present.

Xi Jinping said in his speech that under current world economic situation, BRICS countries are facing new challenges, meanwhile, they still enjoy huge potential in economic development and promising prospect in economic cooperation. The economic and trade cooperation among BRICS nations is at an important period featuring booming development, and it is hoped that the business circles of BRICS nations could make new contribution to pushing BRICS cooperation in addressing challenges and promoting BRICS economic development to a higher level.

Xi Jinping expressed his hope that the business circles could well utilize the platform of the Business Council to push for more tangible cooperation projects among BRICS enterprises and for in-depth development of economic and trade cooperation among BRICS countries and at the same time enhance communication with their governments and actively offer ideas and suggestions to their governments thus contribute to implementing the BRICS economic partnership strategy and building a closer BRICS economic partnership.

Leaders of other BRICS countries expressed that the active cooperation among BRICS business circles could make valuable contributions to economic growth and economic and trade cooperation of BRICS nations. As important forces with respective advantages in global economic arena, BRICS countries, under the current world economic situation, need to enhance cooperation, and meanwhile embrace huge cooperation opportunity in agriculture, manufacturing, infrastructure, clean energy and other areas. It is hoped that the status of BRICS countries in the international economy could be elevated through the joint efforts of their governments and business circles.

President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry SergeyN. Katyrin, on behalf of the BRICS Business Council, delivered a speech. He said that in the spirit of mutual respect and mutual benefit, the member states of the Business Council are actively exploring cooperation and now devote to strengthening exchanges in such sectors as business, finance, convention and exhibition and information. BRICS enterprises will jointly contribute to economic cooperation among their countries through the platform of the Business Council.
