Xi Jinping Visits Commercial Airplane Factory of Boeing Company

On September 23 local time, President Xi Jinping visited the commercial airplane factory of Boeing Co. in Seattle.

President of Boeing Commercial Airplanes Ray Conner and other responsible persons and staff representatives of the company warmly welcomed Xi Jinping upon his arrival. Ray Conner briefed him on the operation of the company and accompanied the visit. When Xi Jinping walked into the spacious assembly workshop, workers were doing their job orderly on the production line. Xi Jinping stopped to watch from time to time and asked with interest about the company's efforts in energy saving and emission reduction as well as its design idea for future airplanes.

Xi Jinping pointed out that as a supporter, participator and promoter of China-US economic and trade cooperation, Boeing Co. plays an important role in the development of bilateral relations. The cooperation between China and Boeing Co. serves as a model in China-US mutually beneficial cooperation in economy and trade. When big rivers have water, the small ones are filled. Sound China-US relations will provide better conditions for US enterprises to cooperate with their Chinese counterparts. It is hoped that Boeing Co. will further elevate its cooperation with China and contribute more to economic and trade cooperation as well as relations between the two countries.

Xi Jinping boarded a Boeing 787 which will soon be delivered to China's Xiamen Airlines, and kindly communicated with the employees working on it. Xi Jinping gave a speech at the welcome ceremony held by Boeing Co., saying that China's cooperation with Boeing Co. has transcended the times and yielded win-win results. China's development will bring more development opportunities to US enterprises and open up new space for bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation at higher levels.

Wang Huning, Li Zhanshu, Yang Jiechi and others accompanied Xi Jinping for the visit.
