Xi Jinping Arrives in Washington DC to Continue His State Visit to the US

On September 24 local time, President Xi Jinping arrived in Washington DC, the capital of the US by special plane to continue his state visit to the US.

At about 5:40 pm, Xi Jinping arrived at Andrews Air Force Base near Washington DC by special plane. Vice President Joe Biden of the US and his wife took a special trip to the airport to warmly greet Xi Jinping and his wife Mme. Peng Liyuan. US children presented a bunch of flowers to them. Honor guards lined up on both sides of the red carpet. The military band played the national anthems of China and the US.

Wang Huning, Li Zhanshu, Yang Jiechi and other delegation members arrived by the same plane.

Xi Jinping arrived in Washington DC after his visit in Seattle. On the morning of September 24 local time, Xi Jinping left Seattle by special plane. Jay Inslee, Representative of President Barack Obama of the US and Governor of Washington State, and his wife, Ed Murray, senior official of the US Federal Government and Mayor of Seattle, as well as local political heavyweights and friendly personages of various circles saw him off at the airport.

Washington DC is the second stop of Xi Jinping's US visit. Afterwards, He will attend the series of summits marking the 70th anniversary of the UN in New York.
