During the World War II, 24 Chinese navy students participated in the landing operations in the Battle of Normandy and won Prime Minister Winston Churchill’s praise for their fearlessness, bravery and battle skills. Lord Michael Lindsay, the late member of the House of Lords of the UK Parliament, took an active part in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, helping China modify telecommunication equipments under extremely difficult circumstances and risking his life to deliver scarce supplies such as medicines and communication equipments to the Chinese army. At the beginning of this year, UK nurse Anna Cross was unfortunately infected with Ebola virus in her volunteer service in Africa.
