UK First Magazine published a "China Special Issue" the other day to welcome President Xi Jinping's state visit to the UK. President Xi Jinping and Queen Elizabeth II of the UK wrote an article respectively for the special issue.

In his article, Xi Jinping expressed sincere greetings and best wishes to the UK government and people.

Xi Jinping pointed out that the Chinese people and the UK people are both great peoples who not only have created time-honored history and splendid cultures but also are persistently pursuing innovation and progress in line with the trend of the times. The two countries, though thousands of miles apart, are still bosom friends, and both peoples' achievements in literature, arts, science and technology are attractive to each other. Since the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership in 2004, both countries have witnessed substantial progress in their relations with fruitful cooperation results being yielded in economy, trade, education, science, technology, culture, climate change, energy and other areas. We will work with the UK to create new growth points for and inject new impetus to bilateral common development and further deepen bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership.

Xi Jinping expressed that as this year marks the 70th anniversary of the World Anti-Fascist War and the founding of the UN, both countries held series of commemorations. The two countries are builders and defenders of the post-war international order based on the UN Charter. I hope that both peoples will join efforts to safeguard the victorious results of the World Anti-Fascist War, abide by the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and push construction of new type of international relations with win-win cooperation at the core.

Xi Jinping said that looking into the future, China will advance together with the UK, jointly mapping out the new blueprint for bilateral relations, opening up new prospect for bilateral practical cooperation and setting up a new model for international cooperation based on mutual respect, equal treatment and win-win cooperation.

In her article, Queen Elizabeth II of the UK extended gratitude to the First Magazine for publishing a "China Special Issue" right before President of the People's Republic of China to pay a state visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and expressed that she is looking forward to President Xi Jinping's visit and hopes that the existing sound bilateral relations will be enhanced through the visit.

Prime Minister David Cameron expressed in his article for the special issue that President Xi Jinping's visit will open up a new golden era for bilateral relations. The two countries will jointly build the global partnership to address challenges in the 21st century. He hopes that the visit will usher in a closer and constructive partnership between the two countries.
