On October 22 local time, President Xi Jinping and his wife Mme. Peng Liyuan left the Buckingham Palace. Before they left, Queen Elizabeth II of the UK and her husband Prince Philip paid special visit to bid them farewell in a friendly way.

Xi Jinping expressed that the visit gave my wife and me a deep and beautiful impression. I offer my sincere gratitude for the hospitality and thoughtful arrangements from the Royal Family, and the government and people of the UK. During the visit, the two sides agreed to jointly build China-UK global comprehensive strategic partnership for the 21st century, and usher in a golden era for the bilateral relations featuring endurance, openness and win-win results. I have every confidence in the future of China-UK relations.

Queen Elizabeth II noted that President Xi Jinping's visit to the UK has been very successful and fruitful, elevating the UK-China relations to a new level. As President Xi Jinping would leave for Manchester to continue his trip, she wished the following part of his UK visit successful and smooth.

Queen Elizabeth II and her husband shook hands with Chinese delegation members one by one to bid farewell, saw Xi Jinping and Mme. Peng Liyuan to the steps at the gate of the Buckingham Palace and watched the motorcade leave.
