Xi Jinping Meets with General Secretary of the CPV Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong Again

On the morning of November 6 local time, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and President Xi Jinping met in Hanoi with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong again, having in-depth communication and exchanges of views on building of the party, deepening of bilateral cooperation in all fields and other topics.

Xi Jinping briefed Nguyen Phu Trong on the party-building work of the CPC and China’s goals and concepts for economic and social development during the the period of the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" put forward at the fifth plenary session of the 18th Central Committee of the CPC. Xi Jinping pointed out that both China and Viet Nam attach importance to party-building work, and the two parties are confronted with many similar tasks in their party-building. China is willing to work with Viet Nam to boost exchanges in party management and governance and administration of state affairs to improve their governance capacity together. China and Viet Nam constitute a community of common destiny with strategic significance, and the futures and destinies of the socialism cause of the two countries are highly intertwined. Cementing the traditional friendship between the two countries and enhancing the China-Viet Nam comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation are in line with the common interests of both countries. Both sides should continue boosting cooperation, adhere to mutual benefit and win-win result, and make important contributions to strengthening and developing the socialism system in both countries and pushing forward the development of socialist cause. China and Viet Nam should deepen traditional friendship, further cultural exchanges in an extensive manner, facilitate understanding between the two peoples and make China-Viet Nam friendship take deep roots in people’s hearts.

Xi Jinping stressed that during his visit, he and the Vietnamese comrades reached broad consensus on further developing China-Viet Nam relations, with which he is satisfied.

Nguyen Phu Trong briefed Xi Jinping on the results of the renovation cause of Viet Nam and the preparatory work of the 12th CPV National People’s Congress. Nguyen Phu Trong expressed that Viet Nam attaches great importance to the party-building under the new circumstances, pays high attention to China's experience in party building and socialism development, and stands ready to strengthen exchanges and cooperation and promote mutual learning and reference with China. Viet Nam agrees to beef up collaboration and exchanges with China in all areas.

Wang Huning, Li Zhanshu, Yang Jiechi, Wang Jiarui and other members of the Chinese delegation, Lê Hồng Anh, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPV Central Committee and Standing Secretary of Secretariat of the Central Committee of the CPV, Pham Bình Minh, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam, and others were present at the meeting.
