On November 6 local time, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Chinese President held talks with President Trương Tấn Sang of Viet Nam in Hanoi.

Xi Jinping noted that this visit impresses him deeply. During the visit, he had candid and friendly exchanges with the leaders of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) and the Vietnamese government, and close contacts with the representatives of the Vietnamese National Assembly and youth of both countries. The visit achieved a complete success and has met the goal of consolidating traditional friendship, strengthening strategic coordination and boosting practical cooperation. Both sides not only showed their sincere willingness to promote the China-Viet Nam relations for a stable and healthy development under the new circumstances, but also reached a series of important consensus on deepening practical cooperation in a wide range of areas, opening up broad prospect for both countries to comprehensively deepen mutually beneficial cooperation.

Xi Jinping pointed out that he deeply feels the adherence of both sides to the leadership of communist parties, their persistence in the socialist path as well as their commitment to comprehensive deepening of reform and opening up and renovation cause. Both sides, putting the relations between the two parties and two countries in an important and special position, are willing to inherit and carry forward the China-Viet Nam traditional friendship forged by the older generations of leaders of both countries, continue upholding the "sixteen-character" guideline and "four-good" spirit, and promote China-Viet Nam comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation for long-term, healthy and stable development. He is satisfied with this.

Xi Jinping expressed that both sides should make effective and tangible efforts to comprehensively implement the results scored in the visit. Political guidance should be emphasized. The leaders of both nations should keep to the right direction of bilateral relations. Practical cooperation should also be advanced. China is willing to, taking the docking of the "Belt and Road" initiative and the "two Corridors and one Ring" plan as opportunities, promote major-project cooperation, improve the connectivity between the two nations, and encourage and promote bilateral cooperation in investment, economy and trade. Efforts should be made to manage and control the differences. Both sides should manage and control the differences through friendly consultation, together maintain maritime stability and focus on maritime cooperation. Nongovernmental friendship should also be focused on. Both sides should enhance the contacts and understanding between the two peoples, especially the youth, so as to consolidate the social basis for long-term development of bilateral relations.

Trương Tấn Sang expressed that the visit paid by General Secretary and President Xi Jinping to Viet Nam will make important contributions to the development of Viet Nam-China relations. Both Viet Nam and China are socialist countries led by the communist parties, and the bilateral relationship is of special significance. The two sides supported and helped each other in their revolutionary and construction cause, forging profound traditional friendship. Both sides should cherish the valuable treasure left by the older generations of the leaders of the two countries.
