Xi Jinping Meets with Chinese and Foreign Journalists

On September 5, 2016, after the conclusion of the 11th G20 Summit, President Xi Jinping met with Chinese and foreign journalists at Hangzhou International Expo Center.

Xi Jinping introduced the consensus reached and main results achieved from the summit, which were summarized at the closing ceremony. That is, all parties are determined to chart the course for the world economy; break a new path for growth to inject new impetus into the world economy; improve global economic and financial governance to enhance the resilience of the world economy; revitalize international trade and investment as two key engines of growth, and build an open world economy and promote inclusive and interconnected development, so that G20 cooperation can deliver benefits to the whole world.

Xi Jinping pointed out that coinciding with the crucial juncture for world economic growth and the transformation of the G20, the Hangzhou Summit attracted wide attention from the global society and carried high expectations from all sides. Leaders of all member states, guest countries and international organizations exchanged in-depth views on key agenda items centering on the theme of building an innovative, invigorated, interconnected and inclusive world economy, and jointly discussed plans for world economic growth and cooperation. With joint efforts made by all sides, the summit has yielded fruitful results and achieved expected goals. After the summit, all sides will continue to make joint efforts to actively implement and promote various outcomes of the Hangzhou Summit, and jointly advance the strong, sustainable, balanced and inclusive world economic growth.

Xi Jinping thanked the important contributions made by G20 members, guest countries and international organizations to the success of the Hangzhou Summit in the end, and expressed appreciation for the wisdom devoted by all sectors including industry and commerce, think-tank, labour, woman, youth, and the public to the success of the summit and the development of the G20. He also thanked media of all countries for supporting China to host the Hangzhou Summit.
