Li Keqiang Meets with Prime Minister Viktor Orban of Hungary

On the morning of November 5, 2016 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met at the hotel where he stayed in Riga with Prime Minister Viktor Orban of Hungary.

Li Keqiang expressed that China-Hungary friendship has become stronger as time goes by. The two countries have witnessed firm political mutual trust and constant progress in practical cooperation, achieving remarkable outcomes. When completed, the Budapest-Belgrade railway will substantially shorten the trading time between China and the EU and drive the economic development of countries along the route. China is willing to work with all sides, including Hungary to continuously well build the flagship project of Budapest-Belgrade railway, so as to better achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. It is hoped that Hungary, as a member state of the EU, can play a positive role and propel the EU to fulfill its obligation in Article 15 of the Protocol on the Accession of China to the World Trade Organization as scheduled, in order to boost the healthy development of China-EU economic and trade relations.

Viktor Orban expressed that attaching importance to its relationship with China, Hungary is a reliable partner of the Chinese side. The cooperation consensus reached between both sides is being earnestly implemented. Hungary is ready to further lift bilateral relations to a new level and make joint efforts to continuously deepen the "16+1 cooperation". Hungary stands ready to play a positive role in boosting the development of EU-China relations.
