On the morning of November 7, 2016 local time, Premier Li Keqiang laid a wreath at Piskarevskoye Memorial Cemetery in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

Nearly 500,000 martyrs and civilians, who fell in the World Anti-Fascist War, were buried at Piskarevskoye Memorial Cemetery in the suburb of Saint Petersburg. Along with solemn mourning songs, Li Keqiang walked up the stairs and laid a wreath before the Mother Russia Monument at the cemetery in the cold weather. Later, with national anthems of China and Russia played by the military band, Li Keqiang paid eye salute to the monument. Afterwards, he inspected the march-past of the honor guard accompanied by senior Russian officials.

After the inspection, Li Keqiang visited the exhibition room of the cemetery. After hearing the heroic history of people in Saint Petersburg besieged by Fascist armies tenaciously fighting against aggression for nearly 900 days, Li Keqiang noted that martyrs had made great contribution to the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War, defended their motherland, and upheld world peace. We deeply honor the memory of martyrs during the World Anti-Fascist War and pay tribute to people who paid a fearful price for the victory.

Liu Yandong and Wang Yang were present at above activities.

On the evening of November 6 local time, after arriving in Saint Petersburg, Li Keqiang visited the State Hermitage Museum in the company of Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev of Russia. The museum houses 2.7 million art pieces, including oil paintings and sculptures, which makes it a famous treasure house of fine arts and one of the largest and oldest museums around the world. Li Keqiang watched classical art works in different historical stages from different civilizations such as Ancient Greek, Ancient Rome, and Ancient Egypt. For many times, he stood in front of exhibits, carefully appreciated them, and communicated with Dmitry Medvedev from time to time. When seeing the Peacock Clock, the most valuable piece in the museum with a history of more than 200 years. Li Keqiang extended admiration to craftsmen's masterly skills.

Li Keqiang pointed out that these art pieces from different countries and nations fully demonstrate the diversity of the splendid human civilization and draw on human being's firm belief in and unremitting pursuit of peace, truth, goodness, and beauty. At present, countries around the world should further advocate cultural diversity and inclusiveness, propel friendly exchanges and mutual learning, and push for sustained progress and enduring peace in human society.
