Li Keqiang Meets with President Vladimir Putin of Russia

On the afternoon of November 8, 2016 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow with President Vladimir Putin of Russia.

Li Keqiang first conveyed President Xi Jinping's sincere greetings to President Vladimir Putin, and expressed that as the biggest neighbors to each other as well as comprehensive strategic partners of coordination, China and Russia have always kept moving steadily forward and continuously achieved new fruits from bilateral relations and cooperation. China-Russia cooperation is not only beneficial to the two sides, but also to peace, stability, development and prosperity of the region and the world at large. Both sides should well implement consensus reached by the two heads of state and uplift China-Russia relations to another new level.

Li Keqiang pointed out that China is willing to, together with Russia, explore cooperation potential, expand cooperation area, consolidate the recovering and stabilizing momentum of bilateral trade, promote cooperation in major projects of oil, natural gas, civilian nuclear energy, aviation and aerospace and strengthen cooperation in finance and infrastructure construction. Both sides should promote the deepening cooperation of small-and medium-sized enterprises, which would stimulate the market's vitality while providing necessary support and assistance to cooperation between the two countries' major enterprises. The two countries should elevate the level of people-to-people and cultural exchanges and consolidate the public opinion foundation of bilateral relations.

Vladimir Putin said that with close exchanges between Russian and Chinese heads of state and government leaders, inter-governmental cooperation mechanism undergoes smooth operation. The successful regular meeting between Russian Prime Minister and Chinese Premier has promoted the development of bilateral practical cooperation. At present, Russia and China have stabilized for the better in trade area and shared sound cooperation in electromechanical equipments, import and export of agricultural products and other fields as well as positive development in energy cooperation and broad prospects in aerospace cooperation. Russia is willing to work with China to constantly expand bilateral investment, and strengthen cooperation in such areas as high-speed railways and finance, so as to continuously deepen bilateral relations and cooperation.

Vice Premier Liu Yandong, Vice Premier Wang Yang and First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov of Russia attended the meeting.

Li Keqiang arrived in Moscow from St. Petersburg by special plane after successfully attending the 21st Regular Meeting between Chinese Premier and Russian Prime Minister.
