Li Keqiang Arrives in Ulaanbaatar for Official Visit to Mongolia and Attendance at 11th ASEM Summit

On the afternoon of July 13, 2016 local time, Premier Li Keqiang arrived in Ulaanbaatar by a special plane, starting his official visit to Mongolia. He will also attend the 11th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Summit to be held in Ulaanbaatar.

Li Keqiang was greeted by Foreign Minister Lundeg Purevsuren of Mongolia and others at the airport. Young Mongolian women in traditional costumes presented hada and milk cheese. The guards of honor, lining up on both sides of the red carpet, saluted to Premier Li Keqiang with their eyes. H.E. Xing Haiming, Chinese Ambassador to Mongolia also greeted him at the airport.

Li Keqiang expressed that China and Mongolia are good friends, partners and neighbors that wish each other well. The two countries enjoy close exchanges and solid cooperation foundation. I hope to jointly discuss with Mongolian leaders about the blueprint for friendship, cooperation and development between the two countries in the new period during the visit. China is willing to enhance cooperation with Mongolia as always, promote the docking of development strategies between the two countries and expand cooperation and communication in various fields, so as to jointly write a new chapter of common development and prosperity between the two countries.

Li Keqiang pointed out that China always attaches importance to developing Asia-Europe cooperation and actively supports Mongolia in hosting the 11th ASEM Summit. We are willing to work with all sides to make the summit a complete success and make positive efforts to advance peace, cooperation as well as common development between Asia and Europe.

During the visit to Mongolia, Li Keqiang will hold talks with Prime Minister Jargaltulga Erdenebat, meet respectively with President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj and Chairman Miyegombo Enkhbold of the State Great Hural of Mongolia, and witness the signing of relevant bilateral cooperation documents. Li Keqiang will also hold bilateral meetings with multiple state leaders attending the summit so as to promote the development of relationship between China and related countries.
