Li Keqiang Meets with President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj of Mongolia

On the morning of July 14, 2016 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met at the Government Palace in Ulaanbaatar with President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj of Mongolia.

Li Keqiang firstly conveyed President Xi Jinping's warm greetings to President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj. Li Keqiang expressed that China and Mongolia are friendly neighbors linked by mountains and rivers. Satisfied with the sound momentum of steady development of China-Mongolia comprehensive strategic partnership, China is willing to, together with Mongolia, well implement various achieved consensus and constantly enrich the connotation of bilateral relations, so as to promote cooperation in various fields to a new level and better benefit the two peoples.

Li Keqiang pointed out that this year coincides with the 20th anniversary of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM). Eurasia is the largest continent in the world and the economic aggregate of countries in the region accounts for half of the world economic volume. Its stability and development play a crucial role in world peace and prosperity. Development is the cornerstone of peace and prosperity. At present, the influence of global events, including refugees in some regions and the spread of terrorism, traverses the Eurasian continent. China is willing to work with all countries including Mongolia to highlight peace, friendship and cooperation in this ASEM Summit and make contribution to enhancing Asia-Europe cooperation, dealing with common challenges, safeguarding peace and stability and advancing common development.

Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj expressed that the signed article by Premier Li Keqiang published on Mongolian major media before his visit to the country has generated good responses in all walks of life. Mongolia-China comprehensive strategic partnership enjoys smooth development and cooperation in various fields has yielded positive results. Mongolia regards developing relations with China as the principal policy of its foreign policy, and Mongolia will not change its policy of promoting friendly cooperation between the two countries. Mongolia is ready to work with China to implement bilateral cooperation consensus and boost in-depth development of practical cooperation through speeding up connectivity construction and others. The country stands ready to synergize consensus and facilitate friendship by hosting the ASEM Summit, so as to advance new progress in dialogue and cooperation between Asia and Europe.
