On the afternoon of July 15, 2016 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met in Ulaanbaatar with Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev of Russia.

Li Keqiang expressed that this year marks the 15th anniversary of the signing of China-Russia Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation. China stands ready to, together with Russia, consolidate political mutual trust, deepen practical cooperation in various fields and intensify communication and coordination in international and regional affairs. China will carry out collaboration with Russia within such frameworks as the Asia-Europe Meeting and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, safeguard common interests and promote peace and development in both countries, the Eurasian continent and the world at large.

Li Keqiang pointed out that economic and trade cooperation between China and Russia enjoys high complementarity and broad prospect. Bilateral trade has shown a steady and sound momentum recently, and major cooperation projects of strategic significance have seen great progress. China and Russia should further strengthen confidence, expand two-way investment and improve trade structure and financial services. The two countries should consolidate and expand cooperation in traditional energy based on the principles of sharing risks, mutual benefit and win-win results, build a stable and integrated cooperation pattern throughout the up, middle and down streams in energy, and earnestly expand the scale of bilateral trade. The two sides need to actively discuss production capacity cooperation and trilateral cooperation so as to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results at a higher level.

Dmitry Medvedev expressed that the two countries enjoy unprecedented political mutual trust and frequent high-level exchanges, along with close communication in deepening bilateral cooperation in economy and people-to-people and cultural exchanges, fully demonstrating the high level of bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination. Russia-China relations are at a great stage with smooth progress in major project cooperation and bright prospect of economic and trade cooperation. China is the largest trade partner of Russia, and Russia is ready to, together with China, integrate Eurasian Economic Union with the "Belt and Road" initiative, enhance cooperation in pipeline projects, and carry out third-party market cooperation in nuclear energy, so as to promote Russia-China cooperation to achieve new progress.

Li Keqiang introduced China's principles and stance on the South China Sea arbitration case unilaterally initiated by the Philippines.

Dmitry Medvedev expressed that Russia respects China's principles and stance and supports parties directly concerned to resolve South China Sea disputes through bilateral friendly consultation. The Russian side opposes interference from forces outside the region and is against bringing the South China Sea issue to the international arena.

Both sides agreed to hold the 21st regular meeting between Chinese Premier and Russian Prime Minister in the second half of this year in Russia.
