On the morning of July 16, 2016 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met with Prime Minister Mark Rutte of the Netherlands in Ulaanbaatar.

Li Keqiang said that the Netherlands is an important partner of China in Europe. In the spirit of mutual respect, win-win cooperation, openness and practicality, China is willing to work with the Netherlands to further consolidate political mutual trust, deepen practical cooperation, and expand friendly exchanges, so as to ensure continuous and healthy progress of bilateral relations and cooperation.

Li Keqiang pointed out that bilateral trade and investment now maintain a high-level operation, fully illustrating that the cooperation between China and the Netherlands enjoys a solid foundation as well as broad prospect. It is hoped that both sides can continuously expand trade and investment and deepen cooperation in fields like modern agriculture, energy conservation, environmental protection, and urbanization. The Chinese side encourages competent domestic enterprises to invest and conduct business in the Netherlands and stands ready to enhance communication on the imports of high-quality products from the Netherlands, so as to promote bilateral trade for a balanced development. It is hoped that as a member of the European Union (EU), the Netherlands would contribute more to deepening the China-EU mutually beneficial cooperation.

Mark Rutte noted that with frequent high-level exchanges and active bilateral trade and investment, the relations between the Netherlands and China are progressing towards a positive direction. The Netherlands is very satisfied with this. China's "Belt and Road" initiative and "13th Five-year Plan" offer substantial opportunities to the cooperation between the two countries. The Netherlands stands ready to strengthen cooperation with China in urbanization, clean energy, environmental protection, health care, coping with aging population and other areas, and hopes to increase the veal exports to China.
