On March 29, 2016 local time, President Xi Jinping attended the grand welcome ceremony held by President Milos Zeman of the Czech Republic in the Presidential Palace in Prague.

Prague in early spring was bathed in warm sunshine and carpeted by soft green grass. With fluttering banners and blooming flowers, the Presidential Palace was waiting for the arrival of the important guests from China.

At about 10:00 am local time, Xi Jinping arrived at the No.3 Yard of the Presidential Palace. Flag-bearers lined up along the red carpet. Milos Zeman welcomed Xi Jinping in front of the military band. The two heads of state stood towards the Presidential Flag when the military band played the national anthems of China and the Czech Republic. A 21-gun salute was fired. Accompanied by Milos Zeman, Xi Jinping reviewed the guard of honor, which is composed of the Czech army and the security force of the Presidential Office.

After the review, Xi Jinping greeted the Czech soldiers with "Hello, soldiers" in the Czech language and they replied "Hello" loudly together. The two heads of state stepped on the reviewing stand and reviewed the march-past together.

Wang Huning, Li Zhanshu, Yang Jiechi and others attended the welcome ceremony.
