Xi Jinping Arrives in Washington D.C. for Attendance of the 4th Nuclear Security Summit

On March 30, 2016 local time, President Xi Jinping arrived in Washington D.C, the capital of the US to attend the 4th Nuclear Security Summit at invitation of President Barack Obama of the US.

At around 7:00 p.m. local time, Xi Jinping arrived at Andrews Air Force Base by special plane. Senior officials of the US government welcomed him at the ramp.

Wang Huning, Li Zhanshu, Yang Jiechi and other delegation members arrived by the same plane.

H.E. Cui Tiankai, Chinese Ambassador to the US, also greeted him at the airport.

The theme of the summit is "strengthening global nuclear security system". Xi Jinping will attend all official activities of the summit and deliver important speeches, expounding China's stance and propositions on nuclear security. During the summit, Xi Jinping will also attend the Leaders Meeting of Six Countries on Iranian Nuclear Issue upon invitation.

Xi Jinping arrived in Washington D.C. after concluding his state visit to the Czech Republic. On the afternoon of March 30, 2016 local time, Xi Jinping left Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. Upon his departure, Minister of Foreign Affairs Lubomír Zaorálek, the Presidential Office Head Vratislav Mynar of the Czech Republic and others saw him off at the airport.
