Xi Jinping Holds Meeting with President Tomislav Nikolic of Serbia

On June 17, 2016 local time, President Xi Jinping held meetings in Belgrade with President Tomislav Nikolic of Serbia.

When they arrived at the Hunting Lodge in Villa Peace, Xi Jinping and his wife Mme. Peng Liyuan were warmly greeted by Tomislav Nikolic and his wife Dragica Nikolic. Tomislav Nikolic once again extended his warm welcome to Xi Jinping's visit. Xi Jinping expressed gratitude to the hospitality and amity from the Serbian government and people.

In the elegant and quiet Hunting Lodge in Villa Peace, the two heads of state exchanged extensive views on issues of common concern.

Xi Jinping noted that enjoying traditional friendship, China and Serbia are all-weather friends with special brotherly bond. China-Serbia practical cooperation has reaped remarkable results with colorful people-to-people and cultural exchanges. China cherishes the traditional friendship with Serbia and treasures the sound momentum of vigorous development of bilateral relations. Both sides should adhere to the principles of mutual respect, equality, mutual benefit and win-win results, make bilateral relations more strategic and comprehensive, and expand practical cooperation in various fields so as to promote all-round and in-depth development of China-Serbia relationship.

Xi Jinping also briefed on China's economic and social progress, stressing that China will continue its development path that conforms to its national conditions and adhere to the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics. China is fully confident in the future of its development.

Tomislav Nikolic spoke highly of the achievements made by China in socialism construction and reform as well as opening up, saying that as an old friend and true friend of China, Serbia is glad to see its achievements. Both sides should firmly support each other on issues of core interests and major concerns.Serbia is ready to join efforts with China to push bilateral relations to a new high.
