On June 18, 2016 local time, President Xi Jinping attended a grand welcoming ceremony held by President Tomislav Nikolic of Serbia in Belgrade.

The sun shines brightly in the crystal clear sky in Belgrade during summertime. People were eagerly waiting for the arrival of Chinese distinguished guests in front of the Serbian Building.

At about 9:30 a.m. local time, Xi Jinping and his wife Mme. Peng Liyuan arrived at the front square of the Serbian Building. President Tomislav Nikolic and his wife Dragica Nikolic greeted them at the parking place. The two heads of state stepped onto the reviewing stand. The military band played national anthems of the two countries, and a 21-gun salute was fired. Accompanied by Tomislav Nikolic, Xi Jinping inspected the guard of honor. After the inspection, Xi Jinping shook hands with major officials of Serbia and Tomislav Nikolic shook hands with Chinese delegation members.

Wang Huning, Li Zhanshu, Yang Jiechi and others attended the welcoming ceremony.
