Xi Jinping Attends Welcome Ceremony Held by President Andrzej Duda of Poland

On June 20, 2016 local time, President Xi Jinping attended the grand welcome ceremony held by President Andrzej Duda of Poland at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw.

At around 10:00 a.m. local time, Xi Jinping and his wife Mme. Peng Liyuan arrived at the Presidential Palace by car, where they were warmly welcomed by President Andrzej Duda and his wife Mme. Agata Kornhauser-Duda. The military band played national anthems of China and Poland. Xi Jinping inspected the guard of honor in the company of Andrzej Duda. At the end of the inspection, Xi Jinping expressed his greeting to the Polish soldiers with "Hello, soldiers" and they replied "Hello, President Xi" loudly together. The two heads of state and their wives shook hands with representatives from the Polish government, army and foreign envoys to Poland one by one, and jointly watched the march-past.

After the welcome ceremony, Xi Jinping and Peng Liyuan exchanged brief greetings with Andrzej Duda and Agata Kornhauser-Duda. Xi Jinping pointed out that the Chinese and Polish people helped and supported each other in different historical periods, forging profound feelings and friendship. Currently, the traditional friendship between China and Poland is bursting with strong vitality. It is believed that the friendship will surely be passed on from generation to generation and carried forward.

Andrzej Duda warmly welcomed Xi Jinping's visit to Poland. He believed that this visit will achieve a great success, promote Poland-China relations to another new stage and benefit the two countries and their peoples.
