Li Keqiang Meets with King Philippe of Belgium

On the afternoon of June 2, 2017 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met with King Philippe of Belgium at the Royal Palace of Brussels.

Li Keqiang firstly conveyed President Xi Jinping's warm greetings to King Philippe, and expressed that China and Belgium enjoy a profound traditional friendship and increasingly intensified exchanges. President Xi Jinping and Your Majesty have successfully exchanged visits, which injects strong impetus into the development of China-Belgium relations. China is willing to continuously make joint efforts with Belgium to align development strategies, make use of complementary advantages, enhance connectivity, and deepen cooperation in high-tech, energy conservation, environmental protection and other fields, in a bid to push forward the development of bilateral relations.

Li Keqiang pointed out that the course of China's deepening reform and expanding opening up bears great market opportunities. The Chinese side welcomes more Belgian enterprises to invest and establish business in China, so as to better achieve bilateral mutual benefit and win-win results.

Philippe expressed that Belgium and China enjoy a long-standing friendship. He visited China many times, and was deeply impressed by China's great achievements made in its opening up. The Belgian side is glad to see the opportunities brought by China's development to the region and the world at large, and stands ready to, together with China, deepen cooperation, intensify communication in international affairs, and jointly address global challenges.

Both sides also exchanged views on bilateral, international and regional issues of common concern.
